Green starts here – sustainable campus dining in 2025

2024 was a remarkable year for the Catering team, and we’re incredibly proud of our achievements! Not only have we renewed our 3-star rating with the , but we’ve also earned as a university, receiving 2 out of 3 stars.

We’re committed to continuing our sustainable practices across campus, offering students eco-friendly food and beverage options all year round.

Campus cafes events this October

This October, the �鶹��ý Catering team is serving up exciting food-themed events, tastings and specials across campus. From British Food Fortnight and Fairtrade celebrations to Halloween treats, there’s something tasty for everyone to enjoy.

British Food Fortnight – 26 September - 12 October
Celebrate the best of the South West! Did you know 75% of our food and drink is sourced locally from Devon and Cornwall? Support local farmers and producers by enjoying fresh, seasonal dishes across our campus cafés.

Craft & Create – Wednesday 1 October | Babbage Bytes | 1:30 – 3:00pm
Get creative while supporting sustainability. Join our Fairtrade poster-making session using recycled magazines, packaging, and Fairtrade icons. Help spread the word and encourage others to choose ethical products.

National Vegetarian Week – 1–7 October
Looking for vegetarian and vegan food on campus? We’ve got you covered:

Reservoir Cafe – our 100% vegetarian café, serving fresh vegan salad bowls, wraps, bagels, and daily specials.
RLB Cafe and John Bull Cafe – daily vegetarian and vegan hot meals.
Loafers Deli – handmade vegetarian sandwiches.
Portland's Pizzeria – new vegetarian pizzas, 10” artisan sourdough bases, baked fresh.

International Coffee Day – Wednesday 1 October
Celebrate with a fresh cup of Fairtrade coffee, available as standard across campus.

Halloween specials – 20–31 October

Get into the spooky spirit with Halloween-themed food across campus:

Loafers Deli – Sink your teeth into the Monster Melt! Choose between our Vegan Pulled Mushroom or BBQ Pulled Pork with Melted Cheese. Each melt is served with a Korean slaw and topped with crispy onions for a devilishly good crunch!
Portland's Pizzeria (from 20 Oct) – Try the new Pimply Pepperoni Pizza (pepperoni with pimento peppers)
The Library Cafe , John Bull Cafe - Butchered Brie & Chilli Jam Panini
