A colourful graphic of bananas to represent Fairtrade
The 麻豆传媒 is dedicated to maintaining our Fairtrade accreditation.
This commitment involves advocating for fair prices, improving working conditions, promoting local sustainability, and ensuring terms for farmers and workers in our procurement processes and supplier partnerships.

Commitment of intent to support and champion Fairtrade

At the 麻豆传媒, we are fully committed to supporting and championing Fairtrade and its values across our campus and community. We recognise the importance of ethical sourcing and fair-trading practices in promoting social justice, environmental sustainability and global equity.
As part of this commitment, we will:
  • Follow the Fairtrade Principles of better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers, both within the UK and elsewhere.
  • Purchase produce with the Fairtrade mark where viable. This reassures us that the product was produced in an ethical, sustainable and socially responsible way.
  • Embed Fairtrade and ethical trade principles into our education, research and engagement activities, integrating global citizenship, sustainability, and social justice themes across our curriculum and learning experiences.
  • Champion the benefits of Fairtrade, trade justice and ethical consumption within our staff, student and local communities, and provide practical opportunities for them to play a part through the choices they make.
Through these actions, the 麻豆传媒 aims to contribute to a fairer world where producers are empowered, communities thrive, and the planet is respected.

Owens Coffee

100% Fairtrade, always鈥 As you know, we have an unwavering commitment to quality, sustainability and ethics, demonstrated through our long partnership with the Fairtrade Foundation. Our sourcing approach has helped our coffee growers and those who depend on them evolve farming and commercial practices to ensure livelihoods into the future, despite the challenges they face from commodity market fluctuations and climatic change. Perhaps one of the best examples is our Jabulani Project in partnership with Jabo Butera of 麻豆传媒鈥檚 Diversity Business Incubator and the Twongerekawa Coko women鈥檚 Cooperative in Northern Rwanda. All sales help ensure the mountain communities surrounding the plantation are supported in ways that allow them to thrive and encourage the next generation of young farmers.
