About Laura

My research concerns the design, delivery, and evaluation of group-based behaviour change interventions for health and wellbeing (particularly in obesity and weight management). I am particularly interested in promoting the recognition, management and measurement of group processes as key mechanisms of action in group-based interventions, through application of social identity and behaviour change theories.
I am also interested in understanding the interplay between pharmacological treatment for obesity and behavioural weight management approaches, exploring how these processes can work together to support lifestyle change and improve wellbeing of people living with obesity.
I am currently a Research Fellow on the study, a national project examining how Tirzepatide prescribing in primary care shapes access to weight management medication, and the lived experiences of both people with obesity and the healthcare professionals supporting their care. I also support ongoing evaluation of the ±Ê¸é°¿³Ò¸é°¿±«±ÊÌýstudy, a group-based weight management intervention for people with severe obesity.
