Laura provides strategic leadership across the University’s Human Resources Directorate, encompassing HR Business Partnering & Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, HR Operations, and Health, Safety & Wellbeing. As the University’s senior people professional, she advises the University Executive Group on all matters affecting staff and culture, ensuring people-related impacts are central to institutional decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Strategic leadership of the HR Directorate and its services
  • Overseeing the development of people related policies and practices that ensure we attract, develop, reward and retain excellent staff from diverse backgrounds
  • Promoting a healthy and safe work environment which prioritises staff wellbeing, working closely with the University Registrar and Secretary in their capacity as Chair of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Committee.
  • Chair of our Joint Consultative Committee in support of positive employee and industrial relations
  • Advisor to the Reward and Remuneration Committee, supporting the Chair in delivering the committee’s objectives in compliance with the CUC code of conduct.
Laura joined the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ in 2012 and was appointed Director of Human Resources following a successful tenure as Head of HR. A Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, Laura brings over 20 years of HR experience across public and private sectors.
