About Donnchadh
I am a principal clinical neuropsychologist and senior research fellow with a special interest in neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation.
I completed my Doctorate in clinical psychology at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ in 2017 and since then I have worked as a clinical neuropsychologist in the NHS. I have completed post-doctoral specialist training in clinical neuropsychology at University of Bristol (2021) and I am listed on the British Psychological Society’s Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists.
I joined Âé¶¹´«Ã½ in 2023 as a part-time senior research fellow to work on the Computerised Cognitive Assessment (CoCoA) in neurodegenerative conditions project. In that time, I have secured research funding from the Southwest Clinical Research Network (CRN), the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR), and I am currently completing a doctoral clinical and practitioner academic fellowship (2025-2028). My research is focused on using technology and clinical biomarkers to improve neuropsychological assessment procedures in early Alzheimer’s disease
In addition, I hold several honorary positions, which include:
- Neuropsychology lab manager at the Brain Research and Imaging Centre (BRIC)
- Honorary principal clinical neuropsychologist with Livewell Southwest and University Hospitals Âé¶¹´«Ã½ NHS Trust
- Clinical Neuropsychology Tutor at University of Bristol
- Guest lecturer on Âé¶¹´«Ã½â€™s Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
