Representatives from the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ have helped to launch Team Âé¶¹´«Ã½. The collaboration draws together key organisations across the city with the aim of ensuring residents of Âé¶¹´«Ã½ and the wider South West region benefit from its new role as a National Defence Growth Area.
Earlier in September, Âé¶¹´«Ã½ was one of five key national defence growth areas to be announced in the UK Defence Industrial Strategy.
Now the key players of what was Growth Alliance Âé¶¹´«Ã½ have formally launched Team Âé¶¹´«Ã½ and a plan to capitalise on unprecedented levels of investment and interest in the city’s role in defence.
The partners in Team Âé¶¹´«Ã½ include the University, Babcock International Group, the Ministry of Defence, Âé¶¹´«Ã½ City Council, and City College Âé¶¹´«Ã½.
They were among over 100 delegates – including ministers, regional MPs and top civil servants – who attended the event at the Market Hall in Devonport and heard about the ambitions of a programme that aims to build long-term capability and prosperity.
