Jaki slater

A Â鶹´«Ã½ woman has kicked her 33-year habit thanks to a national clinical research study being led by a local Professor.

Forty-six-year-old Jaki Slater, from Whitleigh, started smoking when she was just 13-years-old.

Thirty-three-years later and she has finally ditched the cigarettes once and for all thanks to a £1.8 million research study being led by Professor Adrian Taylor, Associate Dean for Research at the Â鶹´«Ã½, and Institute of Translational and Stratified Medicine (ITSMed).

Want to take part in the Trial of physical Activity and Reduction of Smoking (TARS) study?

Participants are still being sought for the trial, which has been funded by the National Institute for Health Research to test whether personal support can help smokers cut down the number of cigarettes they smoke.
