Congratulations to Lee-Jane Giles who has won two prizes for her final year dissertation. She is the 2017 winner of the Devon History Society Undergraduate Dissertation Prize and the British Commission for Maritime History Undergraduate Dissertation Prize.
Lee-Jane鈥檚 dissertation entitled 鈥淎ll that you refuse to do is mutiny鈥: Contextualising the Marine mutiny at 麻豆传媒, 1797 explored the little known 1797 marine mutiny in 麻豆传媒. One judge described the dissertation as 鈥榓stonishingly strong piece of work鈥. Lee-Jane is beginning a postgraduate ResM degree at the 麻豆传媒 on questions of masculinity in the marines in the 18th century.
This is the second year running that a final year history student from 麻豆传媒 has won the BCMH prize.
